Update: September 15, 2021

Due to a change in local conditions (every ICU and Intermediate bed in our 3 local hospitals are full with Covid patients- personally verified by myself) and due to current professional guidance (our internal LFC medical counsel and elders agree with county, state and national counsel – masking indoors is the best way to keep kids in school and businesses open and save lives) Lake Forest Church-Huntersville’s current masking policy will cover all persons on campus during our Presbytery meeting. The policy is as follows:
Masks are required indoors at all times (lobby, meeting rooms, worship center) except for:

  • When a person is seated, for eating, drinking, or meeting purposes
  • When seated during the business sessions of Presbytery in our worship center or in meeting rooms
  • NOTE: when standing and singing/worshipping in worship center masks will be required
  • Friday evening’s on-campus dinner with be outdoors, no masking needed
  • Our campus has ample outdoor areas for visiting with friends during breaks

It is extra important to follow these guidelines on our campus, due to the fact that we have a full-time preschool, an independent coffee shop, and public-use meeting spaces on our campus. These missional uses of our building blessedly make us a public ‘third’ space in this part of Huntersville, so even on our campus we are being public witnesses for Christ.
We don’t “like” wearing masks at all, but we like preserving life so much that we are willing to bear with one another in this matter, in the spirit and way of Christ. This is how our church is choosing to stay unified on ‘non-essentials’ like this, and we invite Presbytery members to enter our campus in that spirit.
In Christ,
Rev. Dr. Mike Moses
Lead Pastor

Dear Friends,

Lake Forest Church-Huntersville is pleased to host the 99th—and final—Stated Meeting of the Presbytery of the Mid-Atlantic this September 24–25 in Huntersville, NC. Given all that we’ve endured as leaders of hurting congregations for the past 18+ months, we pray that the worship, work and fellowship we share will be balm to weary souls.
On Friday afternoon, we’ll focus on “what makes us distinctive as a denomination and presbytery.” Friday evening, you’re invited to enjoy an on-site dinner* before our 7:00 p.m. worship service, featuring a sermon by our guest Dean Weaver, the new Stated Clerk of the EPC. The Lake Forest Church band looks forward to leading our worship. *Suggested $10 donation for meal, collected on-site.
Below, you will find details about hotel accommodations, childcare and registration. Please also see a letter from the Moderator of our Presbytery, TE Kevin Cauley, explaining the heart and vision for our upcoming 24 hours together.
In Christ,

TE Mike Moses
Founding Pastor, The Lake Forest Family of Churches (EPC)

Lake Forest found that most local hotels were no longer willing to offer a block of rooms without a credit card securing that all rooms would be used.
Below are two Hampton Inns that did offer blocks and also two other hotels that are nearby.

All of these hotels are within 5-10 minutes of the church with lots of dining options nearby. A list of staff favorite spots will be available at check-in.
